How to Link an Email Address to an eBay Coupon

With the use of eBay coupons, you have the opportunity to save money on select items listed on the website using your coupon's discount code. In order to redeem a coupon and ensure a successful payment transaction, eBay members must meet certain requirements: the item's seller must accept Paypal as a payment method, you must have your own Paypal account and your registered eBay user ID must be linked to your Paypal account.

Instructions

1. Select an item you wish to purchase on eBay and buy it using your eBay user ID specified on the eBay coupon. Ensure that the seller accepts Paypal as a payment method, since it's required to use Paypal to redeem an eBay coupon.

2. Check to see if your registered eBay e-mail address is the same address that you use to log in to your Paypal account. If it matches, then your coupon will be easily redeemed at the time of purchase. However, if you do not use the same e-mail address for both Paypal and eBay, then you must add another e-mail address to your Paypal account that is linked to your eBay account.

3. Add e-mail addresses by logging in to your Paypal account. Click the "profile" link under the "My Account" tab. Choose the "Add or Edit Email" and select the "Add" button to add other e-mail addresses to your Paypal account. Make sure that the newly added e-mail address is associated with your eBay User ID and is the same address that appears on your coupon so that it's properly recognized at purchase.

4. Enter the redemption code of your coupon when prompted at checkout.

Tips & Warnings

• Before purchasing, make sure that the eBay item meets your coupon's eligibility requirements. For example, certain coupons restrict redemption to specific categories like men's clothing; you'll be able to buy a men's shirt or jacket, but not a men's hat since that is restricted to the men's accessory category.

• Make sure that you pay for your item before your coupon's expiration date.

• If you have any questions regarding whether the eBay item's seller accepts PayPal as a payment method or your ability to redeem your coupon, address them before you bid or commit to buy an item on eBay. Once you have committed to buy an item from an eBay seller, you are obligated to pay for the item, even if you are unable to use your coupon.
