How to Update a Toshiba Bluetooth Stack

Update the Toshiba Bluetooth stack using Windows Program Manager.

Every Bluetooth-enabled computer requires two separate components: the Bluetooth hardware and the software. The software files that are installed on your computer are referred to as Bluetooth stacks, and there are several companies that create the software. Toshiba makes one of the most commonly used Bluetooth stacks, and every once in a while it is a good idea to check for the latest updates. Use your Windows Program Manager to check for Toshiba Bluetooth software updates.

Instructions

1. Click on "Start" and select "Control Panel," then "Programs," and click "Programs and Features."

2. Scroll down until you see "Bluetooth Stack for Windows by Toshiba" or something similar. This is the installed software. Look under the "Version" column and note the version stack that is installed.

3. Click "Start," then "All Programs." Select "Windows Update."

4. Click "Check for Updates" on the left-hand pane and let Windows search for any newer software updates. If Toshiba has a newer Bluetooth stack available, it will appear under the update list. The name will be listed just like it was in Step 2, and the version number should be different.

5. Select the Toshiba Bluetooth stack update and click the "Install" button.
