How to Capture a YouTube Clip in Safari on a Mac

Many users do not realize that you can download YouTube videos without a separate program using the Safari Web browser. Safari has a built-in method of viewing all the activity on a specific Web page, and it lets you download any content from the Web page. With other browsers, you often need to download and install an add-on. Downloading YouTube clips can be useful if you want to use the video in a presentation or simply to play back using a Flash player offline.

Instructions

1. Open Safari and go to the YouTube video you want to download.

2. Click "Window" from the top menu.

3. Click "Activity."

4. Click the arrow next to "YouTube" so it points down. A list of files will open.

5. Double-click the file with the largest file size. The file will begin to download.
