How to Open a WAV File for Burning With Windows Media Player
Windows Media Player is a popular audio player from Microsoft that has the ability to burn audio files. Before you can burn a WAV file using Windows Media Player, you must add it to the Windows Media Player library. Once the file is in the library, you can add it to a burn list and put it on a CD so you can listen to the file on any CD player.

Open Windows Media Player.

Click the "File" menu.

Select "Add to Library" and choose "Add File or Playlist" from under the file menu. Alternately, you may click the "Add to Library" button on the interface.

Navigate to the WAV file you want to add and burn. Select it and click "OK." You now should have the WAV file in your playlist and should be able to add it to any burn list you like.

Tips & Warnings
Note that Windows Media Player automatically will add a file to your library if you play the file. Simply locate the file on your computer, right click on the file and open the file with Windows Media Player. You also can right click on the file and select "Add to burn list."
