1. Verify if you need a license or permit to conduct business in the state where you will operate. Most areas require a license or permit for professional services or selling products. Tarot readers may be considered a professional service, depending on where you work.

2. Register the business and business name with the state in which the business will operate. This enables the state to track the business's conduct.

3. File the proper tax forms with federal and state agencies. All businesses must pay taxes for conducting business.
