How to Unzip a SITX

SITX files are archives compressed by StuffIt compression software. Stuffit X archives can only be created by owners of StuffIt compression software, but they can be unzipped by anyone using the free StuffIt expander.

Instructions

    • 1

      Download and install the StuffIt Expander for your platform. (See Resources.)

      Double-click the .SITX file you would like to open after installing StuffIt Expander. StuffIt Expander will open and show you the contents of the .SITX file.

      Select all the files within the archive that you would like to unzip and click the "Extract" button in the StuffIt Expander toolbar.

      Use the file browser to choose the location where you would like your files extracted and press the "OK" button.

      Click the "Open Folder" button on the "Expander Progress" pop-up window to locate your extracted files once the progress bar is full.

      Click the "Done" button to dismiss the "Expander Progress" window, then close StuffIt Expander.
