How to Set Up Alerts on a BlackBerry Storm
The BlackBerry Storm 2 includes ample customization options including "Home" screen icon organization and wallpaper designs. One of the simplest ways to set your Storm 2 apart from the crowd is to set up custom alerts using the phone's "Profiles" application. A profile on a BlackBerry is a specific set of alerts and ringtones for phone calls, text messages or push-to-talk alerts, among other things. Storm 2 owners can modify the active profile and change any alert they want.

Go to the home screen.

Tap the "Sounds" application.

Choose the sound profile that you wish to set up alerts for. The "Sounds" application will close.

Tap the "Sounds" application again.

Tap "Set Ringtones/Alerts." A menu will appear listing all of the alerts and ringtones configured for the profile.

Tap the alert you wish to change, such as "MMS," or "Phone."

Tap the "Tune" field then choose your desired alert from the resulting drop-down menu.

Press the "Back" key to go back to the previous menu. Repeat steps 6 to 8 to continue changing alerts for the profile.

Press the "Menu" key when you finish setting up alerts. A list of options will appear.

Tap "Save" to apply the changes to the alerts.
