1. Follow the link provided in the Resource section of this article and download the Microsoft Product Key Update Tool.

2. Press the "Run" button when the download has finished.

3. Enter your Windows XP product key when prompted. Depending on how you acquired your copy of XP, the product key can be found on the computer unit, in the confirmation email or printed on a sticker on the software CD case or sleeve. Then click the "Next" button.

4. Click "Finish" when the update is complete. Your computer will restart and your copy of Windows XP will be ready to use.
