How do I Make Moth Repellent?
The chemicals in moth balls, a standard moth repellent, can irritate your skin and eyes. The fumes can also make you sick, according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. To avoid these potential health risks, a natural moth repellent can be made with common herbs you may already have in your home. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Bowl
- Mint
- Rosemary
- Ginseng
- Thyme
- Whole cloves
- Spoon
- Cheesecloth
- String
- Other herbs

Place the following herbs in a bowl: 2 oz. dried mint, 2 oz. dried rosemary, 1 oz. dried ginseng, 1 oz. dried thyme and 8 oz. whole cloves.

Blend the herbs with a spoon.

Place a few spoonfuls of the herb mixture on the center of a square of cheesecloth. The exact size of the piece of cheesecloth is unimportant.

Grasp the corners of the cheesecloth and bring them together. Twist the extra material a couple times and tie it closed with a string. Make as many sachets as you need in the same manner.

Place these sachets in your sweater drawers or hang them in your closet with more string.

Tips & Warnings
If you do not have all of the herbs on hand, you may substitute eucalyptus leaves, lavender, dried lemon peel, tansy and bay leaves.
