How to Disconnect an Attic Exhaust Fan
On a hot day, your home's shingles can become like a radiator. They build up heat from the sun and transfer it into your attic. This can create a fire hazard in your insulation as well as raise your cooling costs. An attic exhaust fan helps to lower the temperature in your attic by pulling hot air out of your home and circulating cooler air through the attic. But when motors work in extreme heat, they can quickly short out and require replacement. The first step in replacing an attic exhaust fan is to disconnect the fan from its power source.
