Cleaning Instructions for the AEG Coffee Maker

The AEG-Electrolux coffee maker is a built-in coffee bar. Its features include a coffee-bean grinder, drip tray and electronic touch-control programming. This exceptional piece of luxury coffee-making equipment costs over $1,000 and includes a milk foamer, but it cannot clean out the usual lime and coffee bean oil buildups that occur. For that job, its time to bring out a simple bottle of vinegar.

Things You'll Need

• White distilled vinegar
• Paper towels
• Pure deionized water

Instructions

1. Soak the coffee pot and mesh filter in vinegar and let them sit for 15 to 30 minutes to remove any hard-water residues.

2. Wet a paper towel with vinegar and clean the heating element, drip tray and exterior plating.

3. Rinse out the coffee pot and filter. Fill the water tank with fresh vinegar. Put the filter back into position. Set the machine to the six-cup setting and run the machine with the coffee pot in place.

4. Repeat step three.

5. Fill the water tank with deionized water and run again to remove all the vinegar.
