How to Remove Pet Odor With a Natural Home Remedy
Pets provide companionship, entertainment and often protection, but they also leave behind odors. Things You'll Need
- Small bottle with sprayer misting attachment
- 1 ounce of water
- 8 drops of cedarwood oil
- 4 drops of tea tree oil
- Baking soda
- Vacuum with hose attachment
- 3 small containers
- 3 clean towels
- 2 cups warm water
- 1 tsp. mild liquid dish detergent
- 1/3 cup white vinegar
- 2/3 cup water

Combine 1 ounce of water, 8 drops of cedarwood oil and 4 drops of tea tree oil in a small bottle with a spray mister attachment.

Shake the mixture well to mix the ingredients.

Mist pet areas or bedding with the spray to eliminate odors.
Pet Bed Odor Elimination

Sprinkle an even layer of baking soda on your pet's bed.

Allow the baking soda to remain on your pet's bedding for approximately 15 minutes, or up to one hour for strong odors.

Vacuum the bedding with the hose attachment of a vacuum to remove all traces of baking soda.
Urine Accidents on Carpet

Blot up fresh stains with paper towels. Pour 1 cup of warm water in a small container, and add 1 tsp. of mild dish soap to the water. Agitate a bit with your fingers to form suds.

Dip a section of a clean towel in the soapy water and blot the urine-stained area with the towel, working from the outside in, to avoid allowing the stain to expand.

Dip a clean section of the towel in a small container filled with water, and blot the carpet to rinse. Blot dry with a dry section of the towel.

Mix 1/3 cup of white vinegar with 2 cups of water in a small container. Dip a section of a clean towel in the vinegar and water solution, and blot the affected area.

Dip a dry section of the towel in water, and blot the area to rinse. Soak up the excess liquid with a towel, and allow the area to dry for 24 hours.

Sprinkle the affected area with an even layer of baking soda, and allow it to remain on the area for approximately 3 hours. Vacuum to remove baking soda.

Test cleaners on a hidden area of the carpet first to make sure no fiber damage or color transfer occurs.
