Place the 6-foot level on the table and check that the table is level, lengthwise. Move the level around to check the whole surface. If it isn't level, make note of which side isn't level.

    • 2

Place the 4-foot level on the table and check if the table is level from side to side. Move the level around to check the whole surface. If it isn't level, make note of which side isn't level.

    • 3

Place the 2-foot level on the table and check the individual pieces of slate. This is only necessary for tables where the slate comes in three pieces. Make a note which piece of slate is not level and where it sits lowest.

    • 4

Place bottle jacks underneath the pool table in the lowest area. Raise each jack until it touches the slate.

    • 5

Unscrew the slate from the slate support frame. Lift the slate with the bottle jack and slide a slate shim between the slate and the frame. Lower the jack and recheck the top of the table for levelness. Continue lifting the slate and placing shims of different thicknesses beneath it until it is level.
