Sylvania combo TV/VCR components are also equipped with a set of audio-video input jacks for connecting other equipment such as a DVD player. Older Sylvania combos have a mono audio jack and a video jack. This enables you to view from another device, but you will be unable to hear stereo playback. You can use Sylvania combo units with two audio inputs colored red and white for stereo playback. All connections use composite cables with RCA-type plugs.

Instructions

    • 1

Unplug the Sylvania's power cord from the electrical outlet.

    • 2

Connect the plugs on one end of the cable to the "AV IN" jacks on the Sylvania. Insert the yellow plug in the video jack on the Sylvania and the white and red plugs in the left and right audio jacks. If the Sylvania has only one audio jack, connect the white plug to it.

    • 3

Attach the three colored plugs on the opposite end to the corresponding outputs on the rear of your DVD player. Connect only the white plug to the left audio output jack on the DVD player if the Sylvania has only a single audio input.

Tips & Warnings

  • Sylvania combo players may have input jacks on both the front and back of the TV cabinet. Use the jacks most convenient for your connection.
