How do I Clear Land With a Mulching Machine?
Clearing land can be a costly process that can have a major impact on your property. A newer method of clearing brush and trees is with a heavy duty mulching machine. These machines are designed to remove brush, stumps, roots and trees while eliminating the need to destroy the soil base, leave huge ruts, move earth or burn off debris. Basically large shredders, they have a low impact on your land and leave it cleared and ready to use immediately, with a thick layer of mulch to enrich your soil rather than stripped land that you may lose to erosion. Does this Spark an idea?

Contact local land clearing contractors who use mulching machines. Consult with as many as you desire but at least two to three to assess your job and give you a plan and a price. Make sure the specifications they are bidding are the same so bids can be compared accurately. Expect to pay a higher price for land clearing using the mulching process than standard strip and burn methods, however the job should be completed in much less time and the land ready to use immediately upon completion. Discuss these details with the contractors and be sure to have them define their specific methods in detail.

Tips & Warnings
Heavy duty mulching machines are generally only operated by qualified contractors, and not commonly available for rental. Typically it takes some experience to operate the machinery and remove trees, and it is not recommended you take this job on yourself.
Be sure you get credentials for your contractor and they are a licensed business with references.
