How to Insert Footnotes in Word 2007

When you are creating a large document, such as a user guide, manual or essay, then it can be helpful to include footnotes. You can put them in a footer, which is a block of text that appears at the bottom of every page. The footer can consist of any type of text or graphics that you desire to add. Inserting a footer is a simple task when you are creating your document with the Microsoft Office Word 2007 application.

      Open the Microsoft Word 2007 file that you want to add footnotes to.

      Click on the "Insert" tab and then click on the "Footer" option from the "Header and Footer" group.

      Select the footer design that you want from the gallery of footers and then the footer will be inserted to the bottom of every page in your document.

      Click on the "Insert" tab again and then click on the "Footer" option. Click on the "Edit Footer" option.
