How to Fix a Microsoft DOCX
Microsoft Word 2007 uses DOCX as the default file extension for all saved 2007 Word documents. However, these files can become corrupt due to various issues such as an incomplete document transfer or an abrupt system shutdown. Fortunately, a Microsoft DOCX file can be repaired with the operating system's preinstalled software.

Open Microsoft Word.

Click the "Office" button on the top left portion of your computer screen.

Scroll down and highlight the "Open" option.

Click "Open and Repair" and choose the document you desire to fix.

Press the "Enter" button on your keyboard to allow the software to fix the corrupt DOCX file.
