Read Body Language for Love Signals

Youramazingbrain.org state that 55 percent of attraction transmits through body language, with 35 percent through tone and speed of a voice, and a mere 7 percent through the actual words. Non-verbal cues such as facial expressions, hand gestures, body movement and how much personal space you're given are powerful indicators as to how a person feels about you. Learn to look out for those signs that indicate love is present, as body language doesn't lie.

Instructions

Read the eyes. They say the eyes are the window to the soul, and never is it more true than when it comes to being attracted to someone. The pupils dilate, a very subtle non-verbal cue, but if you're looking out for it, you can spot it. Also, if a person is falling in love with you, he/she will maintain eye contact with you as often as possible but a direct stare is generally considered aggressive. Glancing down and back up again with a smile indicates interest.

Look at the lips and mouth. Drawing attention to your lips by biting gently on one or running your tongue over your lips is a clear indicator of attraction. A big smile showing teeth is a positive gauge that your companion is happy with you.

    • 3

Focus on movements around the hair. When your companion tilts the head in conversation with you, it is a clear indicator of interest. Women play with their hair, whilst men run their hands through their own hair, drawing attention to health and virility.

Understand body positioning. A person who is interested in you will keep their body positioned toward you as much as possible. Men generally tend to stand straighter, and both sexes will keep their palms open and toward you. Feet point in the direction of their interest. Arms are trickier to read as it is generally thought that crossed arms denotes lack of interest, but it could simply be that he/she is cold or are unhappy with themselves. However, a touch in a safe area such as the arm or the back is a good sign.

If the person you are sitting with has their legs slightly apart and knees in your direction, he/she likes you. A woman with crossed legs is trickier to read, but if the knee and foot is in your direction, you are her main interest.

Look into the "mirror." mirroring is a very positive sign. When your companion copies your body language, he/she is definitely interested and aware of you.

Tips & Warnings

  • Don't forget the verbal cues as well, listen well and smile often to generate positive body language.
