How to Rollback to Internet Explorer 6

It is possible to remove Internet Explorer 7 from your system.

After installing Internet Explorer 7, you may find that the browser is not fully compatible with your hardware and software, which may result in crashes or unresponsiveness. To rollback to Internet Explorer 6, you will need to uninstall Internet Explorer 7, a process that takes users back to their previous version of Internet Explorer that was installed on the system.

Instructions

1. Click the "Start" button in the lower-left corner of your desktop. Select the "Run" option.

2. Type " appwiz.cpl" (without the quotes) in the field and then click the "OK" button.

3. Scroll through the list of applications. Find "Windows Internet Explorer 7," highlight it and click the "Remove" button. Click the "Yes" button if you are asked to confirm.

4. Restart your computer once the uninstall is complete.

5. Click the "Start" button in the lower-left corner of your desktop, scroll up to "Programs," or "All Programs" and then click "Internet Explorer." Click "Help" in the main menu bar and then click "About Internet Explorer." Check the version listed, which should be Internet Explorer 6.
