How to Troubleshoot a Frigidaire Washer Machine Not Spinning
If a Frigidaire washing machine does not spin during the spin portion of the cycle, troubleshoot the appliance to determine the cause of the problem. Rule out often overlooked issues before you begin. Check the household fuse or breaker box for blown fuses or thrown breakers. Inspect the power cord to make sure it is fully inserted in the electrical outlet. If troubleshooting does not correct the problem, call a service technician to inspect the washer. Close the lid completely. The washer will not spin while the lid is open.

Examine the control knob indicator to determine if it has reached the spin portion of the cycle. Wait for it to advance. The machine will pause briefly between portions of the cycle.

Check the lid locking mechanism. Close the lid and turn the control knob to select the spin portion of a washing cycle. If the washer does not spin, turn the knob to the rinse portion of the cycle. If other portions of the cycle function normally but the washer will not spin or agitate, the lid locking mechanism is malfunctioning. Discontinue use and have the appliance serviced.
