According to the Ask the Exterminator website, there are no commercially sold repellents for frogs. This can be frustrating if you are battling a frog infestation in your yard. Although frogs can be beneficial to controlling the insect population, they can be disturbing with the noises they make and they can also be dangerous if eaten by household pets. Even though there are no commercial repellents for purchase, you can make your own homemade repellents and killers to help control the frog population on your property.

- White distilled vinegar
- Water
- Spray bottle
- Citric acid
- Hand sprayer
- Hot water generator
- Commercial insect repellent
- Commercial snake repellent
Mix together one part white distilled vinegar and one part tap water.
Place your vinegar mixture into a spray bottle.
Spray the vinegar mixture directly on areas where you are seeing the frogs. The vinegar mixture will cause a burning sensation on the bottoms of the frogs’ feet, but otherwise leave them unharmed. The burning sensation should be enough to discourage the frogs from returning to that area. This method can also be achieved by using a saltwater mixture.
Reapply as necessary.
Purchase a solution of 16 percent citric acid from your local hardware store.
Pour your citric acid mixture into a hand sprayer.
Spray the citric acid mixture around the area you are having the frog problem. The concentrated citric acid solution has been known to kill frogs.

Rent or purchase a hot-water generator. These can often be found at your local home improvement store or specialty retailers.
Spray a mist of hot water over the frogs for three minutes. The water should be around 116 degrees Fahrenheit. Use a consistent spray.
Repeat the hot water mist as needed. Hot water will kill many small frogs. It also kills other small garden creatures such as geckos and centipedes.
Determine the main type of insects that are attracting the frogs to your property. Frogs eat insects. By identifying the food source you can work to eliminate it and, in turn, repel the frog population. Inspect your yard and observe the types of insects you are seeing.

Repeat applications as needed. The goal is to kill or repel the food source of the frogs, so frogs are repelled and go elsewhere to find their next meal.
Purchase a commercial snake repellent from your local garden supply store. Snake repellents contain the same active ingredient as mothballs. The smell of the product repels snakes and some frogs.
Apply the snake repellent around the edge of your property according to the package instructions.
Reapply the repellent every four to eight weeks.
