YouTube, founded in 2005, is the world's most popular video hosting site and commonly used to connect and share video information.       Set up an account. Go to YouTube.com and click on the "sign up" link. A page will open with blank fields to enter personal information. Create a user name and password, provide your date of birth, gender, email address and zip code to start posting videos. Read and click to accept policies for using the website. You may receive an automatic e-mail notice to confirm your registration.

      Different video hosting sites accommodate different file formats. YouTube accepts WebM, MPEG4, 3GPP, MOV, AVI, MPEGPS, WMV and FLV files. Make sure your video is formatted appropriately for easy upload.
