How to Add Labels to Google Bookmarks

Locate objects quickly by adding tags and labels to them. For example, when you put a descriptive tag on a browser bookmark, you can find the bookmark later by searching for the tag. Google has a bookmark service that lets users bookmark web pages and store them on Google's server. Google bookmarks do not have folders for organizing bookmarks. However, you can still simplify the task of managing Google bookmarks by adding labels to them.

Instructions

    • 1

Visit Google Bookmarks (see Resources). Enter your user ID and password to log into your account if you are not logged in. You will see your bookmarks in the center of the "Bookmarks" window.

    • 2

Click the "Edit" button next to a bookmark to which you want to add a label.

    • 3

Type one or more labels in the "Labels" text box. Separate the names with commas. For example, to add the labels "horses" and "mountains," enter "horses, mountains."

    • 4

Click "Save" to save the changes.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can add multiple labels to a bookmark. For example, if you bookmarked a Disneyland site, you might add the labels "vacation" and "California." You could later find the bookmark by searching either of those labels.
