Apple's QuickTime Pro offers users the ability to remove specific tracks (audio or video) from their files by defining the movie's properties. If you are currently running QuickTime Player, you will need to upgrade to QuickTime Pro through Apple in order to remove file attributes and save your results.
Step 1
Visit the web page for Apple's QuickTime Pro (see Resources). If running on a PC, click the "Buy for Windows" button on the left side of the screen. If running on a Mac, click the "Buy for Mac" button. Click the "Buy Now" button to purchase the QuickTime Pro activation key. (The QuickTime Pro upgrade runs at $29.99 as of 2011).

Step 2
Follow the onscreen prompts to install and set up the QuickTime Pro component. Agree to the licensing terms and launch QuickTime.
Step 3
Locate the audio/video file on your computer (either with Windows Explorer if on a PC, or with Finder if on a Mac). Drag and drop your file's icon into the QuickTime Player window.
Step 4
Click the "Window" tab at the top of QuickTime's menu and select "Show Movie Properties." Un-check the "Audio" tab in the "Movie Properties" box to disable all audio. You may also delete the sound track entirely from your video by selecting it and clicking "Delete" on your keyboard.
Step 5
Click out of the "Movie Properties" window. Your file will now be only video.
