Stand Up Tanning Instructions
An upright or "stand up" tanning booth lets you achieve that sexy all-over tan while saving you a few minutes at the salon. A wide variety of indoor tanning options are available, and many tanning salons offer upright booths along with traditional tanning beds. The increased UV strength of upright booths coupled with the all-over tan they provide have made them a popular choice. In an upright booth, you may tan at any level of dress or undress. Before your salon visit, decide whether to tan naked, in a bathing suit or in your underwear. Tanning naked lets you avoid forming tan lines, but tanning in a bathing suit protects more of your skin from UV rays. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Make an appointment at a reputable tanning salon that keeps its beds and booths clean and sanitized. Search "tanning salons" on websites devoted to local businesses to read customer reviews of tanning salons in your city. When making an appointment, inquire as to how recently the bulbs in the booths have been replaced. Newer bulbs are stronger, requiring less time in the booth.
-
2
Exfoliate your skin with a loofah in the shower to rid yourself of dead skin cells, and then apply moisturizer. Tanning on fresh skin cells lengthens the duration of your tan.

3
Obtain protective eye-wear. The UV bulbs in a tanning booth will damage unprotected eyes. If you do not own protective tanning goggles, get a pair at the tanning salon.
-
4
Arrive at your appointment a few minutes early to make sure that your booth has been cleaned. Discuss the length of your tanning session with staff, considering your base tan level and the strength of bulbs. An upright tanning session typically lasts from five to 20 minutes.
-
5
Enter the outside tanning chamber and disrobe. Apply moisturizer or tanning accelerator. Use only lotions that are approved for tanning booth use.
-
6
Affix protective eye-wear, and turn on the tanning booth.
-
7
Step into the tanning booth, and stand with your legs spread shoulders' width apart and arms at your sides. Halfway through your session, raise your arms above your head, allowing the UV rays to shine on the undersides of your arms and your sides. Remain in the tanning booth until the timer turns it off.
-
8
Step out of the booth, remove your protective eye-wear and get dressed. Before leaving the salon, you may want to schedule your next appointment.
