1
Put on gloves to protect your hands and cut the carpet into 12-inch strips. This will give you more manageable sections to work with.
-
2
Lift up the edge of one strip of carpet and pull it to remove it from the concrete. If you can't get a good grip on the edge, use a putty knife or scraper to separate the carpet from the concrete and then pull it off.

3
Continue to pull off the strips until all of the carpet is removed. Pour the soy-based glue remover on the floor and use the mop to distribute it evenly. Make sure all areas of the floor are covered. Allow the glue remover to sit for two to four hours.
-
4
Scrape the glue off of the concrete using a putty knife or scraper. Wet a clean cloth with hot water and wipe the remover from the floor.

5
Mix 1 tsp. dish detergent with 2 cups of hot water and wash the floor with the detergent solution. Rinse well with clean, wet cloths or your regular mop (not the mop used in Step 3). Allow the floor to air dry.
