How to Remove Cat Urine From a Leather Sofa
Leather sofas are ideal for pet owners because they don't collect pet hair and wipe clean from muddy paws. Cat urine is extremely damaging to leather furniture, however, and can ruin the surface if allowed to sink into the material. In extreme cases, the leather sofa might require a trip to a professional leather repair shop, or even worse, a complete replacement. Things You'll Need
- Paper towels
- Enzymatic pet stain cleaner
- Clean cloth
- 3 percent hydrogen peroxide
- Baking soda
- Liquid soap
- Non-metal container
- Plastic spray bottle

Blot up as much fresh urine as possible using paper towels.

Spray the leather sofa with an enzymatic pet stain cleaner, available from pet or grocery stores. Apply the product to the entire cushion all the way to the seam to allow the leather to dry evenly, preventing unsightly water stains. Wipe the cleaner into the leather gently using a clean cloth.

Mix 1 quart of 3 percent hydrogen peroxide, 1/4 cup baking soda and 1 teaspoon of liquid soap together in a non-metal container.

Decant the mixture into a plastic spray bottle and spray the entire couch cushion with the solution. Wipe into the couch with a clean cloth to evenly spread the product. Let it air dry.

Tips & Warnings
When mixed together, hydrogen peroxide and baking soda become unstable. Dilute any leftover solution and discard immediately down a sink or drain.
