How do I Make Party Invitation Cards?

Making your own party invitations can be fun.

Making party invitation cards allow you to customize the invitations to match the theme of your party. Although it can take time to create several invitations, the result can be worth the extra effort. Choosing the best supplies when it comes to the paper and pens you use will make the invitations stand out. Choose between postcard style invitations and invitations that fold into a card. And you can individualize each invitation.

Things You'll Need

• Colored card stock
• Scissors
• Glue
• Pens
• Markers
• Stamps
• Envelopes

Instructions

1. Sketch a design for the front of the card on a piece of paper. Alternatively, print out a picture on card stock and mount it to the card or use stamps. The basic design depends on the theme of the party.

2. Fold a piece of colored card stock in two and trim it to the dimensions for the card you want. Decide how you will orient your card, whether it will open from the top or from the side.

3. Print the information for the party on the inside of the card. This should include the location, time and date as well as an RSVP information and any other instructions. Alternately, print the information on card stock, cut it out and paste it inside the card.

4. Decorate the front of the card to match the theme of the party. Use stickers, glitter, lace or cut-outs. Be creative but lay out the design completely before you begin gluing it.

5. Allow the cards to dry completely before putting them in envelopes.

• Card-making kits are available at craft supply stores if you want a specific look or have a difficult time coming up with your own design.

• Putting party confetti inside the invitation card adds a festive touch.
