How do I Clean Bathtub Grout & Mold?

Cleaning your bathtub is a necessary chore to keep your bathroom looking clean and to protect your family's health. Bathrooms tend to develop mold and mildew quickly due to the high humidity from taking hot baths and showers. Mold can cause or make allergy symptoms worse in some people and is unsightly. Proper cleaning will eliminate and help prevent mold from forming on your bathtub and tile grout.

Things You'll Need

• Commercial tile cleaner
• Cleaning cloth
• Chlorine bleach
• Plastic spray bottle
• Scrub brush

Instructions

Cleaning Grout in Bathtubs

1. Spray a commercial tile cleaner on your bathtub grout. The formula will help clean and prevent further mold and mildew growth.

2. Rub the cleaner and grout with a grout brush.

3. Rinse the area thoroughly and allow it to air dry, or dry it with a cloth to inhibit mold.

Homemade Mold Remedy

1. Mix 1 gallon of water and ¾ cup of bleach together. Pour part of the mixture into a clean, plastic spray bottle.

2. Spray the solution on the grout and tile and let it stand for approximately five minutes.

3. Rinse the grout and tile thoroughly. If stubborn stains remain, you may have to repeat the procedure and use a scrub brush.
