How to Glue Velour to Wood
Velour, a knitted or woven fabric with a soft, plush texture somewhat resembling velvet, is used by designers for a variety of outfits from track suits and skirts to pants and hoodies. Velour is also useful when it comes to lining pieces of furniture or household accessories. For example, you can use velour to line the inside of jewelry boxes, kitchen drawers, shelves and similar places around the house. Attach velour to wood with a basic adhesive. Cut the velour to the exact dimensions necessary to fit to the wood. Lay the velour on top of the wood and check the size, making any necessary adjustments. Take the velour and wood outside for maximum air circulation when using adhesive.

Spray the surface of the wood with a light coat of 3M-77 or a comparable product. Apply a slightly heavier coat to corners and edges of the wood. Give the adhesive 30 seconds to bond.

Press the velour down on the wood with the underside touching the glue-covered wood surface. Line up the velour with the wood and smooth out the fabric quickly to eliminate wrinkles. You don't want the velour to adhere to the wood with wrinkles and bumps.

Tips & Warnings
If you can't take the wood and velour outside during this process, be sure to work in a well-ventilated area.
