How to Format Text for a Baby Shower Invitation

How to Format Text for a Baby Shower Invitation thumbnail
Use blues or pinks for text on the baby shower invitation.

When it comes to baby showers, creativity is key. The baby shower invitation is an ideal place to give guests pertinent details, but also extra information for the shower, such as the baby's gender (if it's known), gift registry and other useful tips. If you already know the baby's gender, you can work that into the theme, colors and format of the invitation and text. If you're unsure of the gender, you can incorporate colors that work for either gender instead. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Use a light colored font on a dark background and a dark colored font on a light background throughout to make your text easier to read.

    • 2

Center the text for the invitation heading. A sample heading could say: "You are invited to attend a baby shower" or "Please Join Us to Celebrate."

    • 3

Place the mother's name (or parents' names) below the heading and center it. Use a large, bold, italicized font and a color different from the remaining text on the card.

    • 4

Center the text for the date, time and location of the shower. The date and time may be on the same line if you need extra space. Place the location on a separate line. Use a font, smaller than what you used for the mother's or parents' names.

    • 5

Place the RSVP and host details below the date, time and location. Use the same or smaller lettering as the font size you used for the date, time and location of the party.

    • 6

Center the text vertically on the invitation, leaving an even amount of space above and below.
