Instructions

Turn the lamp off. Allow the halogen bulb to cool down for at least 10 minutes before you touch it. When they are in use, halogen bulbs become hotter than incandescent bulbs. You must allow ample time for them to cool down before you handle them.

Push the safety tempered glass toward the bulb holder so the clips let go, according to Solairco. You may have to use a screwdriver to remove screws if the lamp has them.

    • 3

Grab the bulb firmly with a paper towel and pull it out of the holder. Grab the replacement halogen lightbulb with the paper towel. Insert it into the holder; make sure it is inserted all the way.

Replace the safety tempered glass. Set it on the clips, then push it back into place. Or, put the glass back in place and replace the screws. Throw the old halogen bulb away in the trash. You do not need to discard them in a special way, as they do not contain mercury.

Tips & Warnings

  • Don't touch a halogen bulb with your bare fingers. The oil from your skin will weaken the bulb.
