How do I Clean Swanstone Kitchen Sinks?

The Swan Corporation makes a series of kitchen sinks under the name Swanstone. Swanstone kitchen sinks come in two styles: classic and standard. Both are made with renewable surfaces, and are durable and do not wear away. The kitchen sink surfaces can also withstand high heat and heavy impacts. To keep your Swanstone kitchen sink looking like new, you will need to clean the sink regularly.

Things You'll Need

• Dish detergent
• Water
• Rag
• Abrasive cleaner
• Nylon scrub pad
• Granite polish

Instructions

1. Wash your Swanstone sink after each use. Do this by squeezing a teaspoon of dish detergent on your rag and then rubbing the sink down with it. Rinse off with warm water.

2. Pour any type of abrasive cleaner directly on your Swanstone kitchen sink when you are ready to give it a good scrub. Let the cleaner sit for several minutes, or longer if the product recommends it.

3. Hold a nylon scrub pad under the faucet of your Swanstone sink until it is wet on both sides. Rub the scrub pad lightly over the entire sink, and then scrub any spots that are extremely dirty. You should not have to scrub too hard if you let the abrasive cleaner sit for a few minutes.

4. Turn the faucet on and rinse away all of the abrasive cleaner and dirt.

5. Wait for the sink to dry and apply a granite polish. According to the Swan Corporation, using granite polish allows you to go longer between cleanings. It will also restore a nice shine to your kitchen sink.

Tips & Warnings

• Never use an abrasive cleaner that contains bleach on your Swanstone kitchen sink without first checking a small area of the sink. You need to make sure the bleach doesn't change the color of your sink.

• Do not use wire scrubbing pads on your Swanstone kitchen sinks.
