How to Decorate a Bachelorette Bedroom

While a married woman must incorporate her spouse's tastes in her bedroom design, a bachelorette is free to craft a boudoir that truly reflects her feminine aesthetic and playful nature. If you are in the midst of crafting your bachelorette pad, take time to consider your bedroom and devise a plan for creating an exuberant and energetic space that fully reflects your interests and allows visitors a glimpse into who you really are.

1. Integrate feminine colors into your decor. While men might balk at hot pink or lady-like lavender in bedroom décor, bachelorettes don't have to worry about crushing a partner's masculinity. Because the room is yours and yours alone, add as many girlie colors as you want to the decorating palette.

2. Cover your bed with throw pillows. Throw pillows add luxury to your bed space and make it look cozy and inviting. Use an abundance of pillows in a rainbow of colors that complement your décor to ensure that your bed remains the focal point of your room.

3. Incorporate sleek fabrics. Many shiny and soft fabrics, such as satin, are not quite man-friendly, but do make an aesthetically pleasing addition to the feminine boudoir. Use these sleek fabrics in your decor, crafting pillows and other accents out of the material. Avoid using shiny fabrics exclusively, as doing so can create a room that is overly busy. Instead use them to create pops of drama in your room.

4. Dress your windows with gauzy drapes. Light and airy window dressings allow natural light into the space. Use dressings of this type on your windows to ensure that outdoor light can diffuse into your space. If you wish to have the option of keeping light out as well, place blinds behind the dressings and use these window features to keep out the bright as you recover from a long night on the town.

5. Add animal print accents. Animal prints make a playful and whimsical addition to a bedroom space. Feature zebra, cheetah or giraffe prints in your pillows and about the space. These additions give your room a wild feel and convey your inner exuberant spirit.

6. Feature favorite photos. Photos of friends and family are mood boosters. Place pictures of you and your loved ones engaged in fun times around the space, both on surfaces and on the wall. Swap these photos out regularly to ensure that your bedroom is always an up-to-date reflection of you.

7. Place flowers or live plants around the space. Add some life to your room with living things. Use green plants or potted flowers to finish off your space. Select a fragrant addition to make your room pleasing to the nose as well, or simply select a lush green variety to serve as a non-aromatic visual accent.
