How to Do Body Wrapsthumbnail
The bathtub is the best place for a body wrap.

Spas offer body wraps as a moisturizing and tightening skin treatment. Depending on the type of solution used, body wraps also can work to get rid of excess water weight and even eliminate toxins in just a few hours. With preparation and the right materials, you should be able to do a body wrap at home without extensive professional training.

    Instructions

    Things You'll Need

    • 3/4 cup bentonite clay
    • 1/4 cup aloe vera gel
    • 1/4 cup sea salt
    • 2 tbsp. lavender essential oil
    • 2 cups water
    • Bowl
    • Plastic spatula
    • Clean white bed sheet
    • Emollient body lotion
      • 1

Clean your skin before you apply the body wrap mixture. A warm shower is best because it will open up your pores.

      • 2

Boil two cups of water combined with the sea salt until the salt is dissolved. Add the remaining ingredients to the hot sea salt water mixture and stir. You should end up with a wet paste. If it is too thick, add more hot water to thin it.

      • 3

Use a clean plastic spatula to apply this mixture all over your body. It is safe to use on the face as well. The best place for at-home application is the bathtub because it can easily be rinsed clean.

      • 4

Cover your body loosely with a clean white sheet, and sit still in the bathtub for at least one hour. Afterward, rinse clean and apply an emollient lotion to the skin to trap and seal in moisture.

    Tips & Warnings

    • Olive oil, rosemary and grapefruit essential oils can be used in this recipe as a substitute for lavender oil.
