      Hook your laptop to the LCD projector by connecting one end of the VGA cable to your laptop's "Display out." Connect the other end of the VGA cable to the VGA or "RGB in" port of the LCD projector.

      Turn on the laptop first.

      Turn on the LCD projector.

      Open PowerPoint 2007 and select "Slide Show" from the toolbar. Choose "Set up show" then click "Presented by a speaker (full screen)," which is the option to choose for a presentation. "Browsed by an individual" runs the slide show and allows access to some PowerPoint commands while "Browsed at kiosk" is a self-running slide show for an unattended kiosk.

      Hit the "Fn" key and the "F8" key at the same time.

      Select the second monitor option and your presentation will appear on the screen and your laptop.
