How to Burn a 24P DVD Studio Pro

DVD Studio Pro is part of the Final Cut Studio suite of media applications from Apple. The program allows you to take your Final Cut Pro movies and burn them on professionally authored DVD's. If you shot your video in 24p, the best way to deliver it would be on a 24p DVD disc. To do this, you will need to import your video without altering the frame rate.

      Open Compressor, which is included with Final Cut Studio, and import your video file.

      Select the MPEG-2 codec that best fits your project based on the projects length and whether it is widescreen or full screen. Choosing an MPEG-2 codec will preserve the sources original frame rate.

      Open DVD Studio Pro and start a new project.

      Import your MPEG-2 file in DVD Studio Pro.

      Insert a blank DVD into your DVD rewritable drive and click the "Burn" icon from the top of the window to burn the disc.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you import your file into DVD Studio without the MPEG-2 codec, the file will automatically be converted to 30 fps, which is the standard for video.
