Applications for the iPod Touch (also called "iTouch") are stored in an IPA file format. The actual file name will end with ".ipa" and will have an "iTunes Application" icon. When you download these applications from the iTunes App Store, they are automatically added to your iTunes App library. If you are transferring an app from another computer or some other source, you will have to manually add it to the library if you want to sync it with your iPod Touch.

Instructions

    • 1

Open iTunes using the desktop shortcut icon.

    • 2

Click "Apps" from the "Library" menu in the left column in iTunes.

    • 3

Click on the IPA application file from your hard drive and drag it into the "Apps" window to import the file into iTunes. The application is now ready to be synced with your iPod Touch.
