How to Connect a Toshiba Satellite A205 to a TV

Many Toshiba laptops include "TV Out" ports that make it simple to use the TV screen as an extra-large monitor or video screen. The "TV Out" port on the Satellite A205 laptop is an S-Video port. While S-Video delivers a higher-quality video signal, you can also find S-Video-to-composite cables in many electronics stores if your TV doesn't have an S-Video input.

Things You'll Need

• S-Video or S-Video-to-composite laptop cable

Instructions

1. Plug the S-Video cable into the "TV Out" port and headphone jack on your Toshiba Satellite A205.

2. Plug the other end of the cable into the S-Video or composite (if S-Video isn't available on your television) audio/video inputs on your TV.

3. Hold the "Fn" key, and press "F5" four times to make the display appear on the A205 and the TV, or press "F5" five times to make the display appear on the TV screen only.

4. Press the "Input" button on your TV or TV remote, and select the audio/video inputs that you plugged your Toshiba Satellite into.
