How to Reset a 9940DP Copier
The 9940DP copier, manufactured by Savin, requires a reset when the unit is not operating correctly, not turning on or paper keeps getting stuck in the duplex tray. To reset the copier, you need to first verify that the copier is currently plugged into an electrical outlet. After, assess and determine what particular type of problem is occurring.

Not Operating Correctly

Press the "Power" button to turn on the copier.

Look to see if a "Please Wait" message is displayed. The message appears when the copier is turned on in the morning or when the toner has been replaced.

View the display to see if a "Ready" message appears. You will need to wait at least 30 seconds before making copies after turning on the copier on. A three-minute wait will be necessary after replacing the toner.
Not Turning On

Press the "Power" button to verify that the copier is not turning on.

Find the "AC switch" that is on the lower-left side of the copier.

Turn the switch to the "On" position if it is currently off. The copier will not operate if the AC switch is in the "Off" position.

Press the "Power" button, and the copier should now turn on.
Reset Duplex Tray

Press the "Power" button to turn the copier off.

Find the duplex tray on the front of the copier. The duplex tray is the first tray that is below the front cover of the unit.

Pull the duplex tray out of the copier. Remove any loose sheets of paper that are caught in the copier.

Re-insert the duplex tray back into the copier. Press the "Power" button to turn the unit back on.
