How to Reset an iPod for YouTube
IPods do not support the flash video format that YouTube uses, but they can play YouTube videos through a special application. The YouTube application comes pre-installed and setup on new iPods. In the event of a software error, you can reset an iPod and restore the YouTube application. Even after reinstalling and restoring the YouTube application, an iPod user can only watch Flash videos from within the application.

Tips & Warnings
If your iPod does not turn on automatically after the restore, let it sit for 28 to 48 hours and begin the restore process again.
If you continue to have problems with the YouTube application, open the Disk Utility application on your computer, select your iPod and choose the "Erase Drive" option to completely clear your iPod.
You can try the "Restore from Backup" option on your iPod, but it may just reinstall the corrupt version of the YouTube application.
Erasing and resetting your iPod will delete all your contacts, music and applications. Always backup your iPod before resetting it.
Never disconnect your iPod from your computer while resetting or restoring it.
Some third party applications support YouTube videos within the Safari browser, but they are not supported or approved by Apple and may void the warranty of your iPod.
