How Users Can Make Web Pages Load Faster thumbnail
Clear your browsing history to make your Web browser run faster.

Web pages often contain layers of embedded code with complex graphics, high resolution images and video that all require a fast Internet connection for optimal viewing. You may notice items taking several minutes or longer to load and sometimes even freezing the operating system on your computer due to the vast size of the website's technical features. When these problems occur, your Internet browser may be clogged with old information. You can optimize your Web browser to get all Web pages to load faster.

Instructions

    • 1

Clear the history in your Web browser by clicking "Tools," then "Internet Options."

    • 2

Click "Delete" under Browsing History under the General tab in the dialog box. Temporary Internet files, history, cookies, saved passwords and saved form information will be deleted from your browser.

    • 3

Check the box next to "Delete Browsing History on Exit." Long lists of websites flooded with unneeded data can take up needed space in your browser each time you log on to the Internet.

Tips & Warnings

  • Check your Internet connection. If it is not stable, you will experience slow load times.
