How to Make Honey-Ginger Spareribs
Using custom-cut baby back ribs from your butcher, these Chinese ribs with honey ginger marinade are great for entertaining. Things You'll Need
- 3 pounds baby back ribs, cut into thirds lengthwise
- Large bowl
- Large spoon
- Large baking dish or roasting pan
- Foil
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 2/3 cup honey
- 3 tablespoons rice wine vinegar
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 ½ tablespoons fresh ginger, chopped finely
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon Sambal Oelek chile paste

Mix the soy, honey, rice wine vinegar, brown sugar, ginger, salt, pepper and chile paste in a large bowl. Mix the ingredients thoroughly until all sugars have dissolved and the mixture has an even consistency.

Add the baby back ribs to the marinade. Refrigerate the ribs in the marinade overnight.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Cover your baking dish with foil. Add the ribs, spreading them evenly in the baking dish. Put the dish in the oven and bake for 20 minutes.

Remove the pan and turn the ribs over. Cook for another 20 minutes.

Finish the cooking process by increasing the oven temperature to 400 degrees. Cook for another five minutes before removing. Allow the ribs to sit for ten minutes before serving.
