How to Turn a Hibernating Laptop On
Many operating systems, such as Windows, Mac OS X and Linux, have a hibernate mode. Hibernate is designed for power management. It conserves power by quickly making a copy of the current state of the operating system and then shutting down the system. By doing this, the computer uses less RAM and processing power than it normally would require. When the computer is turned back on, the stored settings are read from the hard drive and the computer returns to the state it was last in.
