How to Clean an HD TV
An HDTV can help enhance your television watching experience. The screen is designed so that the picture has greater clarity and so that you can see more details. If you choose to own an HDTV, then you should understand the basic maintenance and cleaning that is needed to keep it performing properly. For example, you cannot clean an HDTV screen as you might other types of screens. Using improper methods or cleaning products can damage your HDTV.

1
Unplug your HDTV before you start the cleaning process.
-
2
Use a dry cloth to dust every area of your HDTV except for the screen. The screen will require a different cleaning method. If you have any stubborn areas, you can dampen the cloth slightly.
-
-
3
Clean the screen of your HDTV with a smooth cloth, also known as a microfiber cloth. Be gentle while dusting the screen. Pressing against the screen with too much force can cause irreversible damage.
-
4
Add a small amount of a recommended cleaning product to the smooth cloth to remove stubborn dust or fingerprints. The owner's manual for your HDTV can recommend specific products. In general, use a product that's made for cleaning HDTV screens. Avoid products with harsh chemicals or that are made for cleaning other surfaces, such as windows.
-
5
Plug your HDTV back in when the entire surface, including the screen, is completely dry.
