How to Aim & Install a Hughes Net Dish
Hughes Net provides satellite-based Internet service. Professional installation is recommended by the company, but it is possible for a homeowner to install the satellite dish on his own. Self-installation is technical and may be challenging.

- Coaxial cable
- F-type ground block
- Weatherproof cable connectors
- Copper ground wire
- Compass
- Angle finder
- Electric drill
- Open end wrenches
- Pencil
- Level
- Hammer
- Ladder
- Tape measure
- Pliers
- Screwdrivers
- Torque wrench
- Lag screws

Determine installation site for dish using a compass and angle finder. Ensure there are no obstacles that can block the signal such as trees or buildings in the direction the dish will be pointing.

Ensure the mast can be installed plumb at your desired location. Install the universal mount vertically using lag screws and tighten them securely.

Determine angle and elevation using a compass and angle finder. Refer to Resources section if additional assistance is needed.

Install the satellite cap assembly and tighten the bracket bolt. Adjust for elevation and angle according to your calculations and tighten the elevation nuts.

Install the LNB and waveguide to the dish using the screws and Allen wrench provided with the equipment.

Attach the feed arm to the dish using the provided bolts and wedge nuts.

Loosen the nuts on the mast clamp and attach the satellite dish to the mast. Tighten the mast bolts and make sure the satellite dish is secure.

Attach ground block and install the ground cable. Connect coaxial cable and route to LNB on one side of the ground bock. Connect the interior coaxial cable to the other side of the ground block to complete the installation.

Tips & Warnings
If you are having trouble with finding the angle and elevation, refer to the installation guide in the resources section.
Be careful when using a ladder and do not exceed the recommended height or weight for your ladder. Be mindful of electrical lines when installing the satellite dish.
As a rule, it is not wise to mount on your roof unless you are sure where the studs are located.
