How to Service a Nikon DSLR
Nikon digital SLR cameras are powerful and expensive cameras commonly used by professionals. Sometimes, your Nikon digital SLR may need to be serviced. Luckily, Nikon offers this service directly. Instead of allowing someone who may or may not be familiar with Nikon cameras to handle your expensive DSLR, you can send your camera directly to Nikon for service and maintenance. This service requires you to send your camera through the mail directly to a Nikon service center.

Visit the Nikon USA homepage.

Click on the "Service and Support" tab near the top of the webpage. Click on "Nikon Service and Repair" located on the left hand side of the webpage. Click on "Create a Packing List" located under "Send to Nikon Directly".

Fill out the billing and shipping information. You will need to provide both the billing and shipping name, address, telephone number and email address.

Select your Nikon using the drop down menu. Select "Digital SLR" from the first drop down menu. Select the specific SLR type from the second drop down menu. Enter the serial number in the box provided.

Type in a description of the problem and the accessories included in the appropriate boxes.

Click on the "Print and Ship" button. Two copies of your information will be printed (one to be sent and one for your records) along with a shipping label.

Place the Nikon DSLR to be serviced in a box with the shipping label taped to the front of the box. Ship to Nikon.

Tips & Warnings
Make sure to wrap the Nikon DSLR with bubble wrap to prevent damage during transit.
