How Do I Unlock a Dodge Van?

Many Dodge vehicles have been known to last over 200,000 miles when properly cared for. Dodge vans are known for their durability and spacious features. Early models of Dodge vans are equipped with a manual key and lock system. Later models come with automatic locks and keyless entry systems. Whichever system your Dodge is equipped with, unlocking it is an easily navigated task.

Instructions

With a Key

1. Grip the key, holding the black portion of the key in your hand. The blade of the key should be pointing away from your body.

2. Insert the key blade into the lock located on the door at approximately hip height.

3. Turn the key counterclockwise, or left, to unlock the door of the Dodge. To re-lock the door you simply need to turn the key to the right.

Using a Key Fob

1. Grip the key fob in your hand.

2. Use your thumb to press down the unlock button on the key fob. You will hear the locks click as they move into the unlock position. Ensure that you are close enough to your vehicle, as most keyless entry systems do not work if the user is farther than 60 feet away.

3. Lock your vehicle by pressing the lock button on the key fob; to ensure it is secured. Pressing the lock button twice will arm your car's security system.
