How to Reset the Lexmark X5070 Ink Level

The Lexmark X5070 is an all-in-one inkjet printer that can print, copy and fax documents. Like other brands, Lexmark ink cartridges can be refilled from a third-party company refill kit. This not only saves you money, but also allows you to recycle your ink cartridges. However, you may have noticed that your X5070 printer is not recognizing the refilled cartridge. The best way to troubleshoot this issue is by resetting the ink levels.

Instructions

1. Click on the "Start" menu and choose "All Programs." In the folder designated for your Lexmark printer, locate and launch "Lexmark Imaging Studio." If you do not see it, insert the CD-ROM, provided inside the printer's original box, and install the software.

2. Click "Maintain/Troubleshoot." Select "Maintenance."

3. Click "Install a new print cartridge." This will open a new wizard. Hit "Next" when you see the welcome screen.

4. Follow the on-screen prompts. Choose "Print the Alignment page." Select "Next."

5. Click "Print" when prompted. You will see that your ink levels have been reset.
