How to Reset a Word 2007 Custom Dictionary

Microsoft Word 2007 is a popular word processing software option. If you own Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word software works quite well as the main word processing option for your operating system. One popular feature of the Microsoft Word 2007 software involves creating a custom dictionary. This way, words that you add to this dictionary will not end up flagged as misspelled by Word 2007. Yet, you may have added some words that you no longer need in your custom dictionary. For any reason, you can reset your Word 2007 dictionary to default settings with relative ease.

      Open Word 2007. Wait for the program to fully load.

      Click on the "Microsoft Office Button." This button can be found in the top left corner of your screen.

      Click on "Word Options." Click "Proofing" and select "Custom Dictionaries."

      Click "New" to create a new custom dictionary. This will have the default dictionary for Word 2007. You will undo all changes that you made to Word 2007's dictionary.

      Type in a name for the new custom dictionary. Click "OK" twice to save and finalize your settings.
